Sakura 2021
The 8th Sakura Women’s Wine Awards ended with great success for Domeniul Coroanei Segarcea once again. The wine competition, which has an exclusively women-based jury, was held in February, in Tokyo. Every year, it has as main objectives:
- to find the best wines suitable for home-cooked meals
- to increase wine consumption through the preferred alcoholic drinks
- to grow the number of women working in this industry and empower them
Out of 4.562 wines coming from 32 countries, our Rare Varieties- Tamaioasa Roza and Viognier got the Gold Medal, thanks to its unique taste and its freshness. The “blind-tasting” judging highlights that the wine’s intense flavors speak from themselves.
This competition started in 2014, being the first within the industry judged exclusively by female wine specialists, educators, journalists, restaurant and beverage directors, and so on, quickly becoming the most important Asian competition, with international recognition.
If you are curious about it, we invite you to taste a Tamioasa Roza, which does not need any further introduction- unique in this world; a powerful, but soft taste with ripe peach, white apricots, and redberries aromas, which turns into a long note of rose petals and jam.
“Its brother”, the Viognier, promises a fresh, dense, and friendly taste too, flavored by discrete white fruits aromas and citrus, which cannot be easily forgotten.
